540335 350 CHEVY 1.75" Mercury Silent Choice (FRESH WATER) Header 31.5" Overall WidthOur Mercury fresh water header incorporates a 1 3/4"primary tube (1 5/8" I.D.) The standard header outlet points to the stock mercury location at the transom. This header is the most susceptible to reversion because of it's short collector. It should be noted that the opening size of the port that runs through the gimbal housing to the propeller is 2 x 2 3/4. So if a high horse power or large cubic inch engine is used, the silent choice valves can only be closed at low RPM. Camshaft selection is very important to guard against reversion. Lightning has many camshaft and lifter options from mild to wild. We also have dry tail pipe extensions that can eliminate reversion completely. The standard Header comes with a black powder coat finish; optional colors available. The headers come complete with water supply manifold, gaskets, bolts, pet cocks, water feed hose and clamps.
